Got an Old Stump? We'll Grind It Out.

Stumps get in the way of mowing, attract termites and sprout new growth. Grinding removes them so you can use the space.

Ground below grade, surface roots handled, grindings left or hauled.

Typical price in Ocala: $150–$500 per stump

Depends on size and access. Multiple stumps cost less each.

How we handle stump grinding

Before we grind, utility lines get marked through 811. You point out sprinkler lines, septic and low-voltage lighting, because the locators don't mark private lines.

We grind below grade — usually 6 to 10 inches, deeper if you're planting a tree or pouring a slab — and chase the big surface roots that trip mowers. The grinder fits through most standard gates.

You choose what happens to the grindings: leave them to settle the hole, or we haul them off and backfill with soil so you can seed or sod.

Stump Grinding in Ocala

Grinding in Florida Sand

Ocala's sandy soil makes grinding faster than clay, but big oak stumps have huge root flares. We chase surface roots out so the mower doesn't hit them.

Sand settles fast after grinding. If you're planting sod, we backfill with soil.

Termites love old stumps. Getting rid of them reduces the risk near your home.

Big live oak and laurel oak stumps in Ocala can be four feet or more across at the root flare. Those take longer and cost more than a pine stump of the same trunk size, and we'll price them that way rather than guessing by the trunk alone.

If you plan to put a paver patio, shed or pool where a stump was, tell us. We'll grind deeper and pull out more of the root mass so the base doesn't settle later.

What moves the price

  • Tree height, trunk diameter, and canopy spread (a wide oak weighs far more than a straight pine of the same height)
  • What sits underneath — open lawn where limbs can be dropped vs. roping every piece over a roof, pool cage, fence, or power drop
  • Equipment access — whether a bucket truck can pull into the driveway or we need a narrow-gate lift, climbers, or a crane
  • Wood and brush disposal — full haul-off of heavy trunk logs vs. leaving firewood rounds stacked on acreage
  • Whether you want the stump ground below grade and surface roots chased at the same time

Where we do this work

How it works

  1. Call or send the form.

Tell us what's going on and what part of Ocala you're in. If it's urgent — a tree on your roof, a split limb over the driveway, or storm damage — say so and we'll prioritize it.

  2. We come take a look.

Someone walks the yard with you in person, checks the drop zones, gate width, power lines, and trunk health, and answers your questions on the spot.

  3. You get a clear price before any work starts.

Written scope spelling out removal, cleanup, haul-off, and stump grinding in plain numbers. No pressure — you decide if and when to move forward.

Why homeowners call us

  • We actually answer the phone — or call back the same day.
  • We look at the tree and yard access in person before quoting a real number.
  • We tell you when structural pruning or weight reduction is enough instead of pushing a full removal.
  • We lay down ground protection mats to protect your lawn, driveway, and sprinkler heads while we work.
  • We rake up and haul off every branch and log before we call the job done.

What you can expect from us

Safe tree work comes down to rigging control, the right equipment for your yard, and a crew that respects your property.

We lower heavy limbs on ropes over roofs, fences, and pool enclosures instead of dropping them blind, and we clean up the yard before we leave.

If something doesn't look right when we're done, walk the yard with us before we pack up the truck.
